OCHS Anglers Sportsman's Expo - February 18 and 19, 2012

"Capitol City Event in a Small Rural Town"

OCHS Anglers BoothThe Orange County High School Anglers will bring Central Virginia’s fastest growing fishing and sportsman’s expo to Orange on February 18th and 19th. This year’s event marks the 8th anniversary of the young anglers’ marketing adventure.

The Orange County High School’s Hornet Sports Center is transformed into an indoor gala sportsman’s market. One can find antique fly fishing rods to custom bait casting and spinning rods, from the tiniest gnat used in fly fishing to large swim baits for those lunker bass. Those who want a continued adventure can book a trip with one of the outfitters in attendance or purchase a kayak or even a bass boat. One of the major attractions each year is the trout pond. Those who long for that feel of a trophy fish on the end of their line or want to catch that very first fish, can find much enjoyment under the basketball nets of the Hornet Sports Center. Youngsters can enter the Casting Kids Contest. Pitching, flipping and casting their way to a state championship can take them to the national level where college scholarships are awarded.

This year’s event brings most returning vendors from years past, but also many new faces, too. There will be lots of opportunities to win guided fishing trips, rods, reels, and tackle. The Orange County Fishing and Sportsman Expo, sponsored by Orange County’s world recognized Junior B.A.S.S. Anglers rivals similar established events in Richmond, Fishersville, and Fredericksburg. Exhibitors from around the state, as well as Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and North Carolina will be in attendance.

Several taxidermy experts will be at the expo.  In addition, there will be candle, jewelry and candy vendors. Concessions will be served by the anglers, and parents and volunteers.

Click here to print the Booth/Vendor Registration form. Click here to print or view the poster.

Expo hours on Saturday, February 18th are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, February 19th from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults or $8 for both days. Children under 10 are FREE!

For additional information contact Becky Gore, (540) 661-4300, extension 1154.
